When the Mayor Konstantinos Zervas announced to me his intention to take over the reins of the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, I was very happy, because you assigned me an area that has under his umbrella actions that focus on society (or man).
KEDITH is an organization with many action lines for children, young people, the elderly and the disabled. There is six KDAP of formal education and one KDAP with AA, a Day Care Center for the Elderly, the Europe Direct Information Center, while it is part of Network of European Youth Capitals, having the title of European Youth Capital 2014, and participates in European programms exchange of good practices.
Taking over the management of a body we must be able to narrate the vision in words, in which we, as well as the next ones, will give flesh and blood. There must be a driver with a depth of four years, with the help of opium we will walk. The management of an organization should never start from scratch, but should be built on solid foundations. Because, after all the "vision" for a sustainable everyday life of citizens is not subjective. It is one and objective.
For all the above reasons, a four-year strategic planning of KEDITH was organized on three main axes:
- SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT
- SUSTAINABLE VOLUNTEERING
- SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY
Our plan may seem very ambitious to you. But we wanted to set the bar high, to meet as many needs as possible and guided by a demanding and long-term design to do as much as possible. After all, as I said at the beginning, a body never begins and never ends with an administration. It has a past, a present and a future.
