Urban Agriculture for Resilient Cities

May 9, 2018 | Exchanges - European Programs

The project RU: RΒΑΝ, in which KEDITH participates in a corporate scheme of European cities as a partner, is part of one of the largest European Territorial Cooperation programs, the URBACT, which enable cities to work together to develop solutions to major urban challenges, reaffirming the key role they play in tackling increasingly complex social change. KEDITH participating in RU: RBAN (Greek translation: Urban Agriculture for Sustainable Cities) shares the know-how of the city of Rome, leading partner, in the field of urban agriculture, records good practices regarding the development of skills for organizing urban gardens and training people to manage them , and applies them to the urban vegetable garden entitled GARDEN 3, which has been granted by the Municipality of Thessaloniki for the needs of the program.

The ultimate goal of the project is the full integration of good practices in a final manual / Urban Cultivation Regulation modeled on Thessaloniki and the scope of the entire Greek urban landscape. The project is expected to be completed within the first quarter of 2021.
